Dan Adams Biography
Dan Adams was born in Orange County, CA. His family relocated to San Diego when he was two years old. He attended Mesa and San Diego City Colleges. After college, he worked for the San Diego City School District, first in the mail room, then as a delivery services driver until retiring in 2012 after 35 years.
In 1975, Adams saw an exhibit of Toulouse Lautrec at the San Diego Museum of Art. With no formal training he decided to try his hand at painting. Since then he has garnered critical acclaim for his paintings and has been honored with numerous awards for his work. Using dogs, everyday objects, his family members and self-portraits as subjects, Adam’s canvases are an exuberant demonstration of the power of unfettered brushwork and the expressive qualities of paint. His paintings are in many private collections locally and abroad, including Australia, Europe and Cuba.
