Cathy Carey at the Poway Art Show

This show is a retrospective exhibit of the last fourteen years of my painting career. In order to appreciate how  my Expressive Colorist style has evolved, I want to talk about  three painters who have influenced my style. Claude Monet (1840-1926) was an Impressionist, Vincent Van Gogh (1853-1890) was a Post-Impressionist, and Henri Matisse (1869-1954) was a Fauve and Expressionist.
