La Playa Gallery Supports Six Local Artists

“Blossoms and Breeze” is a new art exhibition in San Diego’s La Jolla Shores village. The event is the result of months of curated work by La Jolla’s own, La Playa Gallery, now nine years old. This new exhibition is highlighted by plein air landscape and seascape paintings, kinetic sculptures, fine jewelry and hand made pottery. Each piece is a stunning representation original self-expression produced by the inspirational voice of local artists.

Plain Air Paintings

The show opens to the public with a delightful display of fine paintings from three plein air artists, one brilliantly advanced non-wheel potter, three dazzling jewelry artists, and the majesty of one metal sculptor. Each artist uses the natural world as their source of inspiration, activating a need to place in perpetuity the state of feeling found amid blossoms and breeze.

The indispensable mind-eye of each artist is used to create a commanding memory of the surface and mood of an outdoor setting relived in look and feel. The result is an eye-pleasing reward that will leave you wanting more!

You are encouraged to attend the opening reception of La Playa Gallery’s Blossom and Breeze show which will be held Friday, September 16th, from 5-8 p.m. in order to meet the artists and to draw inspiration from their fine artworks. Cathy Carey, Rebecca Noelle, and Cate Dudley will be presenting their plein air oil and acrylic paintings. In addition, the fine handmade jewelry of Helen Powell, Maureen Raheja, Helen Powell, and Cathy Care will be on display. The three-dimensional hand-molded pottery of Maureen Raheja will be on display. In addition, the superb kinetic metal sculptures of John Koehler will be presented.
